I wonder who made all these rules but I’ll just go ahead and try playing by some.
A Gentleman gives sincere compliments often.
A Gentleman gives up his seat.
A Gentleman helps a lady with her coat. May I?
A Gentleman says ”please” and ”thank you”.
A gentleman is always punctual.
A Gentleman ruins his lover’s lipstick, not her mascara – the only tears he should make her cry are that of joy.
A Gentleman always offers pay.
A Gentleman keeps his word.
A Gentleman can keep a secret.
A Gentleman never judges
A Gentleman knows the difference between confidence and arrogance.
A Gentleman has a firm handshake and always makes eye contact.
A Gentleman makes the first move.
A Gentleman never lies to a woman, unless it is to surprise her.
A Gentleman walks closest to the curb.
A Gentleman never kiss and tells. What happened in the bedroom stays here. He doesn’t spill it even to his best friends.
A Gentleman knows that anything worth having, is worth working hard for. Just don’t make him realize he is working hard just for you.
A Gentleman means what he says, and says what he means. He hardly says “I love you” but when he does, go take a shower for him.
A Gentleman never lets the door shut in front of someone, no matter male or female, young or old, race, best friend or stranger.
A Gentleman will always offer his coat [on a cold evening] to a lady.
A Gentleman knows how to cook at least one good meal. Splatter of dishes won’t hurt.
A Gentleman should always walk the lady home, without any intentions. Just don’t seduce him on the way home.
A Gentleman never expects something in return for his work.
What then should a lady always do? One would wonder. Just play along milady!
P.S: Maybe sometimes it is good to break/bend some of these rules. That’s what survival means.
